Feedback from Exam Practice - Mrs Hooper

Main points to help you improve:
  1. Add more relevant case studies to your essays.
  2. Use more terminology.
  3. Link each paragraph to the question.
  4. Use Working Title and Atonement in all answers.
  5. Add as many 'bullet points' to your essays to show an examiner the breadth of your knowledge.

Use all your notes and knowledge to answer this question:

How do film companies target their audiences and what issues does this raise? Use examples from the British film industry to justify your ideas.

Plan your answer first for about 20 mins, including all the gap-filling exercises we have done recently. Write for no more than an hour. Include as many case studies as you can.
Make sure you consider the following:

  • distribution


  • other British films if relevant

2. From Monday's Lesson - You need to read the Sight and Sound article on 'This is England' and identify why this film is typically aimed at a British audience.

3. Keep researching the British film industry, adding to your notes.
